My name is Mr Coxon and I am the Year Manager for Year 8.
I have worked at Kepier for almost 11 years and am extremely proud to be a part of the school community.
My main aim is to support the learners and encourage positive attitudes to learning, behaviour and life both in and outside of school.
My job is to take the lead in the day to day running of a year group and be available to learners, parents/carers in relation to behaviour and barriers to learning. I am on-call and available for learners in the year group throughout and after the school day. I have very high expectations and take lead in managing the behaviour of the year group including detentions, and responding to any attendance and bullying issues, should they arise. I expect all learners to attend each day in full school uniform and fully equipped for the school day.
I also support the work of the coaches and advise department leaders about issues relating to learners within the year group to ensure learners in Year 8 are enabled to make the best progress possible.
Experience has taught me that learners who go on to achieve the greatest success in their time at Kepier are not necessarily those that are the most talented or naturally gifted but those who come into school every day with positive attitude and always prepared to give 100%. They are the ones who are polite, well-mannered and show respect to staff, peers and the members of the Houghton community. I am confident that through working together and supporting each other we will have a very memorable and successful five years.
