The jewel in our crown is our £700,000 third generation Astroturf, one of the very first dual purpose facilities (for football and rugby) to be built in the UK. The pitch is designed for training and divides into three seven a side pitches, and is also available for competitive games. Our contribution to the development of football in the region was rated as ‘outstanding’ in a recent Football Foundation report.
The pitch was fully relaid and refurbished in October 2018, and provides a world class facility for the community to use. It is registered on both The FA and RFU approved pitch register.
Kepier has four grass football pitches, one each suitable for U13 and U15 age groups and two full size pitches. We also have a full size grass rugby pitch. These are available for season long hire from early August to late April. These pitches are renowned as some of the best for amateur football in the region, with excellent drainage and a first class maintenance regime to ensure a quality playing surface.
Our sports hall is suitable for a variety of sports, including football, basketball, badminton, and several others. It has a cushioned floor, and is very spacious to suit all purposes.
Multi-use Gymnasium, suitable for a variety of sports such as netball, badminton, gymnastics, etc. Excellent value setting for the community to use.
Our dance drama studio is an ideal venue for a variety of dance, drama or sports events such as judo or karate. It has a cushioned floor, with a mirrored wall and is an excellent affordable space.
We host courses for The Football Association and The Rugby Football Union, including Level One and Two Coaching, Refereeing and First Aid. Please check the Durham FA/RFU websites for details of dates, times etc. and to book.
Our usual opening hours are 6pm – 9pm Monday to Friday, 8am – 4pm on Saturdays and 9am – 5pm
on Sundays, all year round excluding the Christmas New Year holiday period and the Easter
weekend. Weekend hours may vary depending upon bookings.
