Our Year 8 Elite Football Academy progressed to the 4th round of The English Schools Football Association Playstation Cup last week, defeating St. Aidan’s School from Harrogate. On a bright but cold day at Kepier, with our new school looming in the background, Kepier started on the front foot and after 4 minutes Jack opened the scoring. Any thoughts of an easy victory were soon put to bed however, as St. Aidan’s proved difficult to break down, and pressed hard for an equaliser. However, after 20 minutes Jack added Kepier’s second, with Joe making it 3 0 at half time on 25 minutes. The second half saw St Aidan’s continue to work hard in search of a goal, and when Kepeir did threaten some great defending kept them out. However, in the 53rd minute Charlie added a fourth, and this remained the score at the end of the game. Kepier will play Wright Robinson College from Manchester in the next round. Well done to both teams for a great game of football!
