Most Able Provision at Kepier

At Kepier, we are committed to inspiring every learner to achieve their full potential, challenging them to go further, and supporting them at every stage of their academic journey. In line with this ethos, our Most Able programme plays a crucial role in raising aspirations, driving excellence, and ensuring that high-performing learners have access to a wide range of enriching and intellectually challenging opportunities.

Monitoring and Support

Learners on the Most Able register are reviewed annually to ensure their continued progress. Their academic achievement is closely monitored, and, where appropriate, targeted interventions are implemented to ensure they remain both challenged and well supported in their learning.

Opportunities and Enrichment

Learners are exposed to a broad range of opportunities that foster curiosity, resilience, and ambition. These include:

  • A fully funded residential at Jesus College, Cambridge, offered to a selected cohort of Year 10 learners.
  • Subject-specific enrichment opportunities include STEM Clubs, Maths challenges, Coding Club, and a variety of other targeted activities designed to deepen knowledge, spark curiosity, and extend learning beyond the classroom.
  • We have established strong partnerships with local universities, such as Newcastle University, providing learners with access to academic workshops and enrichment experiences that broaden their horizons and support high-level thinking. Additionally, motivational speakers are invited to engage learners, boosting their confidence and self-esteem, and inspiring them to overcome challenges and strive for excellence.
  • A carefully curated extra-curricular programme designed to extend learning beyond the classroom.

Working with Parents and Carers

We recognise the vital role parents and carers play in nurturing high potential. Our school website includes:

  • Departmental overviews of support for Most Able learners.
  • Practical tips for supporting learning at home.
  • Enrichment suggestions and useful external links.

We encourage families to engage with our resources, participate in school events, and maintain open dialogue with the school.
