Year 11 students have been invited to attend the Open Evening on Thursday 14th October, starting at 5.30pm and finishing at 8pm.
During the evening there will be a talk by Mr Juric, Headteacher, and time for students to visit
Department information stands. Subject teachers and current 6th Form students will be available to offer advice and guidance on particular areas of study. Students will also be able to explore the range of enrichment opportunities that we offer.
**Year 11 Opportunity**
There is the opportunity to become a peer mentor to our new year 7 learners (The Buddy Up Scheme). This is a role designed for learners who would like the opportunity to support our younger learners in school as they transition from primary into secondary.
Who does this suit?
This role is open to any year 11
We are looking for learners with different school experiences, characters, personalities, and interests in school and outside of school.
Would you like to support somebody as they start Kepier
Gain experience and have some responsibility.
What will your role be?
Meet once a week with a year 7 learner.
Support with their questions and queries
Support on some occasions during break/lunch or coaching
Help with homework, organisation, building friendships and relationships.

WHO DOESN’T LOVE A SPOOKY STORY?
Sunderland Spooky Stories will be back in the Autumn as part of Sunderland’s Lights Out Festival for Halloween.
We are looking for 500 words of mischief, mishaps and mayhem that will put a spell on our judges, whether it’s something scary around Halloween or a frightening tale of things that go bump in the night. It’s easy to enter, and the rules are simple. See PDF below:

**EXTRACURRICULAR – CLUBS AND ACTIVITIES AUTUMN HALF TERM 1**
Please see our our offer of our extracurricular clubs and activities for the Autumn Half Term. We really would encourage all of our learners to attend an extracurricular activity, to broaden their skills, hobbies, interests and widen their school experience.
There will be changing activities term by term, and we will keep you regularly updated on these.

This year we invite Year 5 and 6 learners to visit Kepier school on Wednesday 22nd September from 3.30pm-6pm for our on-site open evening.
- Principal’s addresses at 4pm and 5pm.
- Learners will have the opportunity to participate in a range of activities from across the curriculum.
In line with the DfE School Covid 19 guidance we will be reintroducing onsite Lateral Flow testing in school in September 2021.
All learners should receive 2 on-site lateral flow tests 3-5 days apart on their return in the Autumn term. Learners should then continue to test twice weekly at home until the end of September.
We are expecting further information from the government regarding testing after September 2021, which will be communicated with you separately.
The first test will take place before they return to Kepier full time, their second test will take place in school on Friday 10th September.
For their first test, learners should be onsite for no longer than 30 minutes and you will only be notified of an inconclusive or positive test result. Learners do not need to wear their school uniform for their first test.

We are aware that Year 7 learners will not have taken part in any lateral flow testing in school before and for some it may be their first time coming into Kepier.
