Kepier is taking part in the COVID-19 Schools Infection Survey. This is a national study that aims to help experts better understand the virus, and how it is transmitted.
The results of this study will help protect learners and staff, and have a huge impact on the response to the pandemic across the UK so I’d like to encourage as many learners as possible in year 7 and year 8 to take part. Unfortunately, those learners who are isolating will not be able to participate during the first round of testing on 10th and 11th December, but you can still enrol now and take part in subsequent tests.
Since the study began on 3rd November, 14114 people have enrolled, and 9566 tests completed across 134 schools. By being a part of this vital national study, your participation is not only helping experts, but is also helping us to protect school learners , staff and their families. This in turn, can help reduce school closures and further lockdowns and help keep everyone safe from the virus.
For the first round of testing on Thursday 10th and Friday 11th December we are being offered an antibody only test. The antibody test is to establish if you have immunity to the virus. Results for these tests will NOT be received until the new year. The subsequent tests will be antibody and antigen which will be in late Feb/Mar 2021. The antigen test will be either positive or negative for COVID-19. The antigen test will be a quick and easy mouth swab test and not the throat and nasal test currently undertaken if someone has symptoms.
If you would like your child to take part in testing on the survey, then you can enrol online by following this link https://www.oc-meridian.com/Desktop/Portal/signup?id=cisschools&referalcode=137262 and putting in our schools unique registration number 137262
